Abstract
Reperfusion therapy using fibrinolytic agents is the standard of care in the management of patients presenting with ST-elevation MI. The goal of reperfusion therapy is rapid, complete, and sustained restoration of normal flow in the infarct-related artery (IRA), thereby preserving left ventricular function and reducing mortality.
