Abstract
Neurally mediated syncopal syndrome is an important cause of syncope affecting patients of all ages. Although the syndrome generally is not life threatening, it may occur frequently and last for years. It can be very disabling too. A detailed history taking, preferably with an eye-witness account, is important in the diagnosis of neurally mediated syncope. The diagnosis and treatment of this syndrome has advanced further since the advent of tilt-table testing in 1986.
